We had such a great night at New Grounds Cafe tonight! We officially released our brand new album, “There is Nothing New Under the Sun (Vol. 2)”. It felt really good to be able to officially share these songs and this project with an audience.

The CD Release Concert was definitely a different event. It felt more like a living room story time and jam session than a full-blown concert. That’s how we wanted it. For us, this event was more like an opportunity to draw back the curtain and let people see what we are like behind the scenes. We shared some fun stories (that we will probably never share again), and we played all of the songs from the new album. It was a blast!

THANK YOU to everyone who came to be a part of the event. If you were there, let us know what your favorite moment of the night was. Leave a comment below.

We are officially back at it for another round of recording at Taylor’s Playground Recording Studio!

In June 2017, we released an album called “There Is Nothing New Under the Sun (Vol. 1)” featuring 3 original songs, 1 hymn, and 6 popular contemporary worship “church” songs. It was a fun project to record, and we received quite a bit of positive feedback from it! (So glad you liked it!)

For two years in a row we have had the privilege and pleasure of leading musical worship at the Sonlife D•Con (Disciple-Making Conference) in Orlando, FL. This year it was held at the Bright Center January 9-11. The event was really amazing, challenging, and super life-giving!

Nick was not able to join us on the trip, so we had Josh Miller fill in on the drums. Josh is a great guy who was a student in my Youth Group while I was a Youth Pastor for ten years. After high school he got involved in missions and went to Bible College, and he is just an all-around great guy.

We had another great night on the square in Berlin. What a fantastic crowd! Thank you to the person who brought a dog… that really made our night!

Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! (Psalm 150:6 ESV)
Nailed it.

We were actually afraid that it was going to rain and we would not be able to play, but the weather held off beautifully (thank You, Jesus!) and it didn’t really start raining until right after we were finished playing.

We certainly played an abnormal selection of songs tonight, but it was a blast. “I’ll Fly Away” was not a song we were expecting to play -but then we did. Great song request, Mr. Keebler!

We were also randomly joined on stage by some wonderful ladies from West Virginia who led us in a rousing rendition of “When the Roll is Called Up Yonder”. Did not see that coming, but you just never know what is going to go down in Berlin!

Another highlight was listening to Keith Byler deliver on a song request for “I Can Only Imagine.”

Probably the best part of the night, though, was hearing so many song requests for Polen Band original songs. “Come to the Rock”, “You Alone Are God”, “Storm Chaser”, and “Seasons” are all Polen Band original songs that we have not played in a long time. Thank you for the requests!

Hopefully we will be back again next year.

For everyone who braved the cold weather and threat of rain to join us tonight, THANK YOU! We hope you enjoyed the evening as much as we did…

On Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday evening we had the pleasure of leading music / worship before the powerful drama “Heaven’s Gates & Hell’s Flames” just outside of Berlin, OH. It was a privilege for us to be a part of the event.

The drama was definitely powerful. It began with a portrayal of the crucifixion of Christ and his power over the grave. Then there were several mini skits depicting real life situations in which the characters lose their lives and find themselves waking up at the gates of heaven to find out whether or not their names were written in the Book of Life. For those who had put their faith in Jesus, he personally welcomed them through the gates of Heaven. Those who had not put their faith in Jesus were dragged away to Hell’s flames.

At the end of the drama an invitation was given for people to put their faith in Christ at that moment, to know that they will go to Heaven when they die and to begin a personal relationship with Jesus right now while they still live. 128 people came forward to declare that they were putting their faith Jesus! Praise God!

Thanks to everyone who came out to be a part of the event. We hope that you found it to be as powerful as we did. We would love to hear your feedback in the comments, so if you were there (or even if you just wanted to be there), let us know!

Tonight we spent some time in the studio working on a new song called “Coming Back” for the upcoming I Am retreat. We recorded part of the song during an earlier recording session and tonight we recorded the acoustic guitar, vocals, bass guitar, and electric guitar.

We may post a rough mix of the song if people are interested. If not, we’ll just wait until it is finished.

We are thinking about making a music video during the retreat like we did a few years back with “Our God Saves”. That was fun.

It is good to be playing together again… We have quite a few upcoming events, so hopefully we’ll see you soon.
